Mark Scheerle, owner of Freestyle Signs has for the past 30 years been designing and supplying signs for businesses, charities, all kinds of local events, you name it, he's done it all from his Port Credit–based office.

 

An accomplished artist and designer, Mark’s work has been seen on banners for the Southside Shuffle, the Memorial Cup and Mississauga’s two hospitals. “I guess you could say I’m pretty well known, especially down here in Port Credit,” he says. “I’ve been here since 1983 so I’ve built up a pretty solid and loyal clientele.”

 

Born and raised in Port Credit, Mark said his connection to the community has helped him in his career as he’s been able to keep in constant contact with the people and events that shape this city. That, combined with an eye for design and artistic flair, puts his services very much in demand. On any given day you can find Mark painting letters onto the side of a truck, installing a creative banner in a storefront, or sitting in front of his computer designing a logo.

 

Mark offers a variety of sign options at Freestyle. As mentioned, truck lettering, banners and logos are specialties, but Mark also offers wraps for cars and trucks, large signs for building fronts, small signs for displays, backlit and magnetic signs, and posters. “There aren’t too many things we don’t do,” he says. “There may be a few challenges from time to time, but you can always find a solution.”

 

Due to his creative touch, Mark is known as the person to see if you want a special look for your business. “I like to work with people to help them create their look,” he says. “I work with their ideas and plans and come up with something that represents their business.”

 

A regular sponsor of community activities and an active organizer for events such as the Southside Shuffle, Mark believes his ties to the community have been a great asset. “It’s great the way everyone works together here to get things accomplished,” he says. “If I can help, then I enjoy it all the more.”
